Mindless Snacking: Something we can ALL relate to.

We’ve all been there, binging on a bag of chips and next thing we know the bag is gone. Or grabbing some bites here and there from a bag of candy.

Here are some tips to think about when it comes to mindless snacking

1) Control your environment. First thing I tell people when they come to me about snacking or eating off track is simply do not buy it or have it in the house!

2) Be more intentional with your meals. Plan them, sit down and eat it. Put the phone down, turn the TV off and be in the present moment.

3) Understand your “trigger foods” and learn how to control them. This is a great tool to use to show foods that you’re in control. Portion out the snack into servings so you do not over eat.

4) Try to stay busy throughout the day, go to the gym, walk outside, organize a room, read a book. Sitting can lead to boredom which leads to more eating

5) Make sure your sleeping pattern is on point. Lack of sleep can trigger hunger hormones to lead to eating throughout the day.

6) Play on last weeks water post, but making sure we are hydrated throughout the day with calm hunger signs and again help steer us away from opening the fridge mindlessly throughout the day.

Now let’s have some fun, what’s your mindless snack that you find yourself always eating!? I want to hear it, good or bad!
